This game could have been a typical banana skin. Moston have a history of slipping up against sides at the bottom of the league, and after the first ten to fifteen minutes you could have thought it was Moston who were the lower placed team. Poor finishing and Beanhead helped to keep a cleansheet. For his trouble he ended up being injured when in a 50/50 with Old Chorltonians centre forward he got a whack on his shins. However he recovered to complete the match.
Moston's play improved, and after about 30 minutes they took the lead through Mark Roberts following a move down the left he was left with a simple finish in the middle of the goal from about six yards out after their keeper had committed himself, but this was turning out to be Moston's poorest performance of the season. HT 1-0.
The second half began with Old Chorltonians equalising when Beanhead gave away a penalty by kicking opponent who was in the corner of the box on the dead ball line. However Moston's second goal was swift when an Old Chorltonians central defender was challenged and the ball sailed over their keepers head into the goal. Moston's next goal came with twenty minutes to go. A fine run and cross down the right by Jonny Munson was met by Dave Haughton who finished with a easy tap in. FT 3-1.
Three more points but it wasn't a game to excite the spectators.
