A great start to the new season and a brand new league for Moston Brook under 12's. Away to Unsworth Town, Moston were a little rocky to begin with and it took them 10 minutes to settle down, but once they did Brook dominated for the remainding 20 minutes of the first half. Some fantastic passes from Ryan Kenny on the left were superbly placed for the strikers, but unfortunately they couldn't find the net. However todays captain Darius Photiou who played his heart out, did find the net and scored 2 screamers in the first half. Unsworth managed to claw 1 back just before the half time whistle because of lack of communication and tired legs in Moston's defence.

Moston looked a little out of sorts at the beginning of the second half. Certain players were falling out of position and appeared to be switched off. This allowed Unsworth to equalise with easy access through midfield and defence. The high light of this game was certainly in the last 7 minutes when Moston found a new lease of life and some sparkling energy that looked as if they had only just started the match. Andrew Bowker had some great runs up the left wing passing and dribbling through numerous players like a rocket. Kallum Partington delivered some superb balls from midfield to the strikers who were being denied by the Unsworth strong defence. But Craig Mckay who played as a defender in the first half demonstrated his ability as an all rounder by scoring the winner as a striker in the second. The game ended Unsworth 2 v Moston Brook 3.

Very Well done all the lads for a fantastic first game of the season and especially to Darius for getting Man of the Match. But most of all a full round of applause must go to Moston's new signing, Micheal Heffernan. He is one of our very own under 11 players, who slotted in with his older peers like a glove. Micheal you were fantastic well done!
