Moston's 1^st XI hit the top of the league following a fine display away to Burnage Metro.

The team talk highlighted beginning the match with a tempo that stops the opposition getting into an early rhythm, something we hadn't done the previous week against Old Chorltonians.

Moston's early pressure saw Jonny Munson have a shot from a narrow angle cleared off the line and another rebound off the post with their keeper well beaten. However Darren Dunleavey gave Moston a half-time cushion scoring twice. One came from an assist by Jonny and the other when receiving a ball right down the middle from Joe McNeill, Darren with his back to goal turned and scored. Moston were denied a third when Mike Brady was given offside at the far post. HT 2-0.

In the first twenty minutes of the second half Moston secured the game with goals from Jonny Munson, Mark Roberts, and Mike Brady. This allowed Charlie and John the opportunity to give all the substitutes a decent runout. The game finished with Darren Dunleavey scoring his third and Moston's sixth. FT 6-0.
