Moston Brook carried their ascent up the table with an emphatic 5-0 win over Northside B this Saturday. The first goal was a well made effort with some fine link up play between Burke, Thomas and Egan, they in turn found Jackson who made no mistake opening up his account for the day with a fine strike into the bottom corner. Northside rallied but Field, Hamnett and Willis shut up shop at the back to take Brook in at the break 1-0 up. Rotation was the name of the day with Brook taking four subs into this one but the introduction of four substitutes at a time didn't phase Brooks organisation. When the ranks were breached Gaffney was in no mood to have his clean sheet marked. The second goal came from a Northside attack Egan broke the play down and found Potsoluiko in his own half he flicked the ball through to Goulden who went on a solo run and hammered the ball home from the edge of the area. The third soon followed this time Burke found Thomas with a slide rule pass his shot was well saved and in the meli that followed Thomas had his effort deflected into goal to put Brook three up. From then on Brook hit cruise control and the goal of the game came as Jackson intercepted a dead ball kick and unleashed a venomous half volley from the half way line that left the keeper no chance. Goulden, Hamnet, Potseluiko and Egan all came close but it was Jackson who sealed his well deserved hatrick in the final minute when he pounced on a bad clearance and hammered home his third. A great performance by Brook and all the hard work on passing in training is beginning to pay dividendsMan of the match awarded by the other teams manager went to Jackson, whilst Moston Brook awarded their man of the match to Egan. |
