First Half

The team started off on the attack when Bowles shot wide on the first venture into the opponent's half, constant pressure and some tricky footwork gave Handley an opening which was well blocked by the Celtic defence. Then some good interplay between Leech and Corrigan down the right resulted in another shot by Handley being blocked again. Another shot by Leech went just wide, with the goalkeeper scrabbling across his goal.

Goal: Some good passing between the team resulted in Bowles scoring with a right foot shot into the roof of the net, which eventually broke Broadways heart and the resilience of the goalkeeper who was inspired in the opening exchanges.

Corrigan closed down the defender from a keepers throw out, Corrigan hassled and won the ball back, went through on goal and only a brave save from the Broadway keeper at Corrigan's feet kept the score to only one goal.

Another attack down the left and another shot on Broadways goal ended with the keeper coming out of his area and handling outside the box, direct free-kick was taken by Bowles from the left hand side ended up in the side netting. Another chance went begging.

Another Moston Brook attack and Corrigan shot on goal and another fine stop from the Broadway Celtic keeper, keeps the score at 1-0, further evidence of the Brook passing game on show with more interplay between Handley and Corrigan and another good save stops Corrigan adding to his season haul. From the resulting corner by Leech clears all the defenders and ends up at Corrigan's feet and another fine save at the far post.

A Broadway attack was thwarted by Leech's determination to get back and help Titterton in defence on one of the few ventures into the Moston half, Bowles battled in midfield to win the ball and drove forward with Corrigan in space on the right and in a much better position decided to shoot which went over the bar, for another wasted opportunity to double the score. Leech shot from outside the box and another save from the keeper. Corrigan shot, yes another save from the keeper. The keeper was keeping Broadway in the game, on another day and we could have been in double figures in the first half. A Leech free kick went wide of the near post. Bowles again casing down the defence went through and shot over

HALF TIME 1-0

The Second halt started as the first had finished with a number of shots from Corrigan and Leech either ending up with good saves by the keeper or by the shots being pulled wide.

The Broadway keeper had been playing the ball to his fullbacks from dead ball kicks which the lads had cottoned onto and were getting more and more chances by containing the Broadway team in their own half.

GOAL: A bursting run to close down the midfield by Leech and a simple short pass to Corrigan resulted in a great turn and first time shot going under the Broadway keeper to make it a deserving second goal and put us in a more comfortable position, Corrigan wheeled away with his wide smile to the sidelines, great finish by Corrigan and a great attitude by Leech to keep going. Well done both of you.

A rare chance for Aspinall to go upfront nearly resulted in a goal for him, when he was at the back post, but unfortunately his shot went passed the far post.

More chances came and went, with more shots from Leech, Corrigan, Handley and Bowles, if only Broadways keeper had an off day, and a much more convincing score would of surely of been on the cards.

Mark Rigg had to be on his toes to stop an effort by the Broadway attack to keep the score at 2-0. Well done as he had very little to do all game.

A Corrigan free kick just outside the box took a deflection of the wall and went out for another corner.

Some good defensive and calm play by Aspinall set up Corrigan for another chance but was well saved again by the keeper.

Bowles took a free kick from an acute angle to see his shot hit the cross bar and out for a throw-in to Broadway.

Mike Melia decided to unleash Titterton and let him go in attack and give Mike's voice a break from shouting him back into defence, a nose bleed could be well on the cards for young Titterton being that far forward.

Goal: A driving run from Leech through the Broadway midfield and a long range shot across the keeper from Leech, gave the keeper no chance as it went in off the far post to make it 3-0.

Well done to the team for a good all round performance, and lets take that performance and attitude into training on Tuesday night.

Result 3-0

Man of the Match: Ellis Corrigan.
