Brook struggled to get this game going in the first half as players were falling out of position and losing possession too easily. The fact that the pitch was slanting to one side didn't help matters.  This is something Brook are not used to and so Rossendale were able to take advantage of this naivety. It also appeared that Rossendale had done their homework well and knew exactly who to mark and  how to draw certain players away from the game and out of play. This explains why Brook allowed them easy access through on goal and them scoring the first goal of the day. It took 10 minutes for Brook's Kyle Hark to equalise with a great right footer after receiving a great cross from Darius. Reece Flynn got the second in the 20th minute with quick reflex shot after a superb delivery from Kallum Partington in defence. Just before the half time whistle Brook were caught out of position again and Rossendale wasted no time in  equalising, making it 2 v 2.

After the half time team talk, which involved swopping and switching a few players around, Brook's confidence began slowly to return and within 10 minutes they soon got down to playing their usual style of football. Injecting some speed and passion into the game seemed to work as Rossendale couldn't hold onto the ball for long.  Brook's usual pass and run techniques, which are typical aspects of their game plan. Whilst the pace was lifting and the players were finding their form, Kyle Hark netted his second with a crafty touch, which megged the keeper. With 10 minutes to go Ryan Kenny playing at left back today found an extra splurge of energy, which saw him burst forth from nowhere and was definitely unexpected by the Rossendale crew. Upon receiving the ball from keeper Kyle Barton, Ryan went on a mad run down the right wing and crossed it into the box for an awaiting Andrew Bowker, who was only too happy to oblige by lifting his right boot and cheekily chipping the keeper, making it 2 v 4.  Niall Rafferty and Darius had a few good chances only to be denied by the posts. Finally however with only a few minutes to go, Ryan burst forth once again and ran with the ball down the left wing taking on everything that stood in his way. He crossed a superb ball into the box straight into the path of an awaiting Kyle Hark who then blasted a right footer home again to claim his hat trick. (This is going to cost his Dad a bomb)!!!!!

Well you made a right meal of that one didn't you boys? I was beginning to think that it was you lot with jet lag not Debbie and myself.... Well done to Ryan today for getting MOTM. (Where did that energy come from?) Can we have the same every week pleeeeeeze Ryan .... GREAT WIN AGAIN GUYS !!!!!
