Another away trip this time to Old Stoconian's who are currently fifth in the table who I'm sure have aspirations of trying to finish in the top two. We left the ‘Blue Bell' with a squad of twelve players with Dave Haughton being away and Rossy being held in the custody of the GMP following a night out in Oldham on the pop!

Having let three goals in the previous week against Newton Heath we needed to tighten up at the back, and having had a discussion in the changing room before the game in typical fashion we conceded a soft goal within the first few minutes of the game. Defensively as a unit we were all over the place. Individuals made tackles when all they had to do was stay on their feet, and we weren't aware or going with the oppositions runners. However offensively we were very lively and had plenty of chances to equalise before we eventually did about ten minutes before half-time. The goal came when Jonny Munson got onto a through ball left his marker and finished coolly. HT 1-1.

Again the second half started just like the first when we allowed Old Stoconians to regain the lead. Paul Vayro who was making a return to the 1st XI equalised for us when he put away a rebound. Jonny Munson then gave us the lead for the first time with a shot which gave the oppositions goalkeeper no chance. Moston having gone in front were making numerous opportunities and our next goal came from Darren Dunleavey who ran onto a ball and finish in style. Our fifth goal and Jonny Munson's third came from a one on one with their keeper which Jonny easily executed. Having now got comfortably in front we again conceded a soft goal when failing to clear a cross an Old Stoconian player was first to the ball at the far post for an easy tap in. This didn't stop Moston's attacking play, and a fourth goal for Jonny came with his persistence after his first effort was saved he put away his second shot.

The final goal of the game came from a good move where Darren Dunleavey crossed the ball into the path of Paul Vayro who scored his second and Moston's seventh with an excellent volley. FT 7-3.
