Moston Brook were on the wrong end of a four one hammering to Failsworth Rangers A this week but the score flattered the opposition a bit as both teams tried to play football in atrocious conditions. Brook were forced onto the back foot straight from the kick off and spent much of the opening minutes in there own half. The inevitable happened on seven minutes as Rangers cruised through the Brook defence to hammer home their first. This kicked started Brooks morning and they began to find their passing game and even going close on a couple of occasions. The first half finished with Field pulling of a string of great saves to keep Brook in contention for the second half as they endured a barrage of attacks from the classy Rangers.
In the second half Brook took the game to Failsworth with Jackson Potseluiko and Burke all having efforts snuffed out. The killer blow came whilst Brook were on the offensive a Brook attack broke down on the edge of the Rangers area and a mouth watering passing display found Failsworth on the edge of the Brook area to hammer home the killer blow.Straight from the kick off Gaffney found Jackson on the edge of the area he passed wide to Poseluiko who in turn found Jackson who hammered home from close range to put Brook right back in it. The game swung again as Rangers pressed hard forcing Egan and Hammett and Taylor into overtime and when Rangers broke through Field had no chance as Failsworth thundered home their third. In the dying embers of the game Jackson and Burke both had chances but the fourth and final goal was sealed in the final minute to take Brook in at full time four one down.
Credit to Brook in this one, once they went one down they played some good stuff but the quality of Rangers showed through and though the score flattered them a win is what they deserved.
Man of the match went to Field for another outstanding goalkeeping display.
