Both teams were up for this match today after the long christmas and new year break. Play was very much even between the two teams for the first 10 minutes and both created chances, which looked like they were likely to score at any moment. Fortunately Brook opened the score sheet first, after Andrew Bowker who was full of beans, received the ball from Lewis Brennan and went charging down the left wing, taking on anyone that stepped in his way before blasting a thunder shot into the back of the net. Marauders followed with an equaliser 5 minutes later after their speedy stiker managed to out run our defenders, who were unaware of his presence.  A great service ball from a Kallum Partington clearance found Kyle Hark  running towards the edge of the box before he cheekily slotted home Brook's 2nd. Keeper Kyle Barton prevented Marauders getting an equaliser with a one on one challenge and a superb save off the line. The Marauder's keeper also stopped Darius adding his name to the score sheet just before the half time whistle, which ended 2 v 1. Both teams only had 11 men today so no subs were made in the second half. Marauders equaliser within the first 5 minutes of the second half was a great shot from a free kick. Brook wasn't giving in that easily and were not settling for a draw. They immediately began to dominate the game by showing their determination and strength as a team. Some good football was witnessed by all on the side lines, and some great chances were being created. A great clearance by Craig Mckay in defence found Niall Rafferty running down the right wing. Niall chipped the ball over the Marauders midfield straight into the path of the runing Darius who finally found the back of the net to make it 3 for Brook.

A sloppy mistake made by the Brook defence allowed the Marauders rapid striker through on goal, but fortunately for Brook,  the faithful Sam Kelly stopped the striker in his tracks with a fantastic saving header off the goal line.

The Marauder's keeper also made some good saves in this half but he just couldn't get his hands to the master blaster goal number 4 that Jack Keightley scored on his debut game for Brook.

Reece Flynn was determined not to be left out of the firing line today and provided Brook's 5th with a rocket shot into the left hand corner of the net from the edge of the box in the last couple of minutesof the game.  Final score 5 v 2.

Absolutely fantastic performance today Brook considering that this was your first game in 5 weeks and that you played on the bigger pitch, which you have never done before. We are all so proud of you. VERY WELL DONE!!!!! Every single one of you played well today but MOTM goes to Andrew Bowker and Jack Keightley, you were both outstanding.
