The 3rds came out of their mid season hibernation to record an impressive victory and performance. Having suffered 3 heavy defeats since overhauling last season points total, there was concern that we might just fulfil the fixtures for the remainder of the season. However once we had taken the lead with a Femi header after good work from Chris Moss, we played with a great deal of belief. We had two of our Under 16s in the team, with Jordan in goals and Musi in the middle of the defence. Michael Budzik kept the right back position and Adam "I don't like to play in midfield" Harrison, played in midfield, and played well. Chris Moss provided plenty of battle in the middle and along with Fred Ogujua ensured that Burnage had little time to dwell on the ball.
A second strike for Femi, a screamer from outside the box ensured some breathing space before the break. In the second half Burnage began strongly but our defence stood firm. When Mark Morrison chipped the ball over the keeper for a third the game was won. Shame that we conceded a late goal to spoil a clean sheet but this was a much better performance and should hold us in good stead for the next fixtures.
Last weeks team: J Mermen, M Budzik, C Parker, C Kennedy, M Kaffo, D Walsh, A Harrison,
F Ogujua, M Morrison (1), C Moss, F Adesanya (2). Subs. M Eze, D Kinder
