Top drawer Brook oozed class in this fiercely fought encounter today and came out the victors in a game that saw them play the best football of the season so far.Straight from the kick off Brook put Boundary under pressure with some neat link up play from Thomas, Jackson and Egan, only a tremendous reflex save from the Boundary keeper stopped Jackson adding to his season haul.At the other end Hammett and Willis did well to stop any advancing Park moves and the ever reliable Field was on hand when they did get through pulling off two great stops towards the end of the first half.Brook were unlucky not to go in at the interval one nil up as Jackson dominated the midfield area finding Thomas on the edge of the box, it was only sharp defending by the Park defence that stopped Egan opening the score in his new role.Half time came and Goulden was introduced, Jackson linked up well with Thomas and a smart one two put Jackson in on goal, he dropped his shoulder and went round the last two defenders and in true Jackson form and hammered home to put Brook one nil up. From the goal Boundary found some spirit but with Hammett now lining up with Thomas at the back the Brook defence was not about to be breached. In the dying embers of the game Field produced two great saves and Hammett and Thomas fought hard to keep Boundary at bay to give Brook a win in a game they normally come of second best.In the final minutes Jackson found Goulden in space but his shot drifted just wide.Final score 1-0 and man of the match went to the ever improving Hammett who his stamping his authority on this position, Boundary’s manager opted for Field in between the sticks for a dogged display and a never say die attitude. Well done lads every one of you deserve a special mention this week for hard work and a real grown up approach to this game.
