Brook went down two nil to a classy  Failsworth Rangers A this Saturday in a well fought, full of endeavour performance. Brook started the game well organised and disciplined in there positions, they went out with the management warning of the way Rangers played and being told not to let them settle.Jackson and Taylor linked up well and as Jackson pulled back the hammer the Rangers defender pushed the ball of his toes. Again Brook attacked this time Egan supporting the front two but this time Taylor couldn’t get his shot off. When Rangers attacked they did with real threat playing some great football from one end to the other but once they got through they found Hammett and Willis in no mood to be breached. Again Rangers attacked and Hammett threw everything into keeping them out and when they did breach the Brook defence Field came of his line to clean up well. The first goal of the game came two minutes from the end of the first half as Rangers but another silky passing manoeuvre together; they cut through the Brook outfield and hammered home an unstoppable drive. The second half saw Brook go up a gear and some well delivered corners left them ruing there chances. As Brook pressed on for the equaliser there was always a chance of getting caught on the break, but Jackson and Egan supported the defence in true style. Again Rangers pressed and again Brook defended stoutly and once again Field performed heroics between the sticks to keep them out. Jackson was on overtime organising the outfield and when he found Goulden on the right his shot was well blocked. The sucker blow came as Brook were enjoying a good spell of pressure, Rangers intercepted in the middle of the park and Brook were caught short at the back , a fine block from Field wasn’t enough as the Rangers forward pounced on the rebound. Final score two nil but this was an excellent all round performance and some big performances all over the park. Man of the match for the Rangers manager went to Jackson for a fine captain’s performance whilst the Brook management opted for Hammett for his ever improving displays.
