As we come to crunch time in the season, Moston took on Hollingworth at Smedley needing a win to get there promotion and title challenge back on track. Moston certainly started the brighter and for the first fifteen minutes or so, seemed to be on course for a comfortable victory. Moston took the early on, Fitzpatrick and Terris exchanging passes, putting Fitzpatrick in on goal and he flicked it passed the advancing keeper and into the net.  As the half went on though, Hollingworth came more and more into the game and eventually equalised with a well taken goal. Their forward getting in down the left hand channel and crossing to his strike partner who finished well. Moston gained a much needed boost at the end of the half as from Fitpatrick's fine left wing cross, the Hollingworth defender put through his own net, to give Moston a half time lead. Fitz has been officially given the goal, although he was a little fortunate to do so.  That said, there is no point in giving it as an own-goal as I sure the Hollingworth defender won't want it.

Hollingworth came out strongly in the second half and immediately levelled the match again. Their forward was given too much time and space to turn and finish in the box. Moston were given the chance to take the lead again, midway into the second half from the penalty spot after a Hollingworth defender was penalised for pushing. Fitzpatrick, who has taken over penalty duties, put the penalty away expertly, sending the keeper the wrong way. Again though, Hollingworth came back strongly and equalised for the third time, their forward getting in behind the Moston backline, but after his shot was blocked, the follow up fell right to the feet of another Hollingworth player and he finished well. Now needing another goal, Joe sent on Darren Dunleavy, to try and find one. This proved to be an inspired substitution as he scored the winner late on. After Dale Lambert had got inside the Hollingworth box and turned inside his defender, but after his shot was save, Dunleavy followed up to give Moston a much needed winner.

Without really playing at our best, Moston got another three points and this win could prove crucial come the end of the season. The league remains very much in our own hands and with five games to go, we know three more wins will see us win the league
