The KO time for this game had to be started 25 minutes later than scheduled because the home pitch of Crab Lane, (Broadhurst playing fields) was unplayable, so we made a joint decision to play at Lower Crumpsall Park. We had no Darius and Michael B today so Craig Mckay was given the role as Captain.

Brook began their game all over the place. Within minutes they lost their formation, they were ball chasing, and were bunching together as if they had gone back to their first years at mini soccer level. What the hell was happening here I thought?......  Everything was being played on one side of the pitch. Deb and I couldn't believe what we were seeing.

It took 20 minutes for Kyle Hark to put Brook ahead after receiving a superb ball delivered by Craig on the right, he scored with what I must admit was a great left footer. It bounced over the keepers' outstretched right arm and into the bottom left hand corner of the net. Pheew.....at last. We thought that this might change things and encourage Brook to demonstrate their usual standard of football,  but unfortunately it didn't. There was nothing much more to report for the remainder of the first half because as already mentioned Brooks performance was very disappointing and I couldn't wait to tell them so during the half time break. Things certainly had to change and quick if they wanted to stay where they have remained all season (at the top of the table). 5 minutes into the second half Kyle scored Brook's second from a Jack Keightley cross. After being offered a spell up front Lewis Brennan hadn't prepared himself for the bounce when he missed a sitter a few minutes later.A few changes had to be made in Brooks' midfield and defence as players appeared to be loosing pace.

In the 40th minute Crab Lane were awarded a penalty as a player was brought down on edge of the box. It was a great powerful shot, which afforded our keeper no chance of survival. This brought the score to 1 v 2. This episode appeared to unnerve Brooks' back four as they finally started battling and putting in some good challenges. Kyle Hark got his hat trick in the 45th minute with a superb header after a cross into the box by Niall Rafferty. A few minutes later Harky boy followed through again with his 4th during a scramble in the area involving a number of players. In the dying minutes he knocked in his 5th with a master blaster low, hard shot, which rumbled straight into the bottom left corner of the net. The keeper had no time to blink with this one let alone attempt to save it. Final score 1 v 5. We are so glad that you won this guys, but I am going to be honest with you. You certainly have to switch on much sooner than you did today if you want to keep up your 100% record. The last 10 minutes is definitely not good enough, particularly with the games we've got coming up! Well done Kyle Hark for getting Brooks MOTM award today and a very Well done to Craig for trying your best in the Captain's role and particularly for being nominated by the opposition manager as MOTM.
