The seconds went into this game looking to both clinch the Aggregate trophy for the club but also gain revenge for a defeat to Abacus a couple of weeks ago. Against a somewhat different Abacus side, the game bordered on a training match or pre-season friendly. The game started slowly and neither side really got into their stride for the first twenty minutes or so and chances were few and far between. It was only when Moston scored that they really took control of the game. Mark Terris getting in down the left hand channel and unselfishly knocking the ball across goal for Monyei to tap in at the back post. It was two soon after, Terris working hard to put pressure on the Abacus defence on the half way line, forcing them to underhit a back pass to their keeper, Monyei nicking in and going past the keeper and walking the ball into the net. After this Moston continued to create chances and Chris Ferns got in down the right, three times, only on the last one did he manage to get his shots on target.

Into the second half and Moston continued to press for more goals and Terris went close with a couple of long range efforts and Monyei shot wildly when a ball across goal was a better option. We finally got our third killer goal, Terris being put in down the left hand channel and finishing expertly into the corner. This allowed joint managers for the day, Jackson and Kinder to make a few changes. Chris Ferns going in goal to allow Ian a run out of goal and Danny introducing himself upfront, despite being injured, sniffing his first goal of the season. His wish was duly granted as he went through and finished, unfortunately for Danny he was given offside. Soon after he was again in front of goal, in an offside position, heading in our fourth. He would have been offside but for the fact that the Abacus defender crossed the ball in for him. As we went into the last twenty minutes of the match, more players pushed forward looking for goals, none more so than Billy Humphries, who put himself up front. He got in on goal a couple of times, firstly finishing well but was in an offside position, then when given on-side, not finishing quite as well as earlier.

A comfortable win for the seconds and with the firsts winning their game, the club has now won the aggregate trophy for the first time.
