This was probably one of the best starts Brook have had since this season began. Kicking off in good spirits and demonstrating some of the fantastic footballing skills that we know so well. This made a nice change from the starts we have been having lately. Within the first ten minutes Brook were soon on the score card after Niall played a short pass to Darius from a corner. Darius delivered a superb ball into the box, which was won by the speedy Ben Tucker. Ben chested the ball down before his right foot hammered it home to put Brook ahead.
Ten minutes later a clearance ball struck by an Elton defender landed smack bang in front of Kyle Hark, who was at the time situated on the edge of the 18 yard box. Kyle struck a tremendous volley, which flew straight back past the defender then the goalkeeper and landed into the top right hand corner of the net setting the score now 2 v 0.
Brook struck again in the 25th minute after the ball was run from one end of the pitch to the other by the midfield players. Michael Brewster delivered a great pass to Kyle Hark who was waiting patiently in the box with a smile on his face. Kyle knew what he had to do and knocked it in low and hard past the keeper to make it 3 v 0.
Just before half time Brook had the ball in Elton’s half again, Jack Keightley received another superb pass from Darius across the edge of the box before right hoofing a bomb blaster of a goal straight into the top right hand corner of the net. Half time score 4 v 0.
Elton started the second half a lot stronger and more determined than the first. They began to create chances for themselves, whilst Brook seemed to be taking things a little too easy. Fortunately for Brook Elton had a couple of balls sent wide or high of the Brook net, which could have led to dramatic effects. In the 45th minute Brook started to liven up again. They were awarded a corner after a shot from Andrew Bowker was knocked out by the keeper. Darius with his usual precision took the corner and once again had his shot met by the head of Ben Tucker who bulleted home Brooks 5th. With only 5 minutes remaining Elton managed to break away from Brook’s midfield and around the back of the Brook defence and finally beat to keeper to bag 1 for themselves. Final score 5 v 1.
It just has to be said, ‘this was an absolutely fantastic performance by Brook’. Well done all of you, KEEP IT UP. Also very well done to Niall Rafferty and Andrew Bowker, for both achieving MOTM today. You both showed true grit and determination throughout and demonstrated great power, speed, and strength during your tackles
