Moston Brook 4ths who are Joint top were due to take on Old Stretfordians. With a Weakened but full squad due to Paul Smith playing at Fabio Capello and seconding half the 4th team into the 2nd team we arrive at Smedley where conditions were pretty awful. Manager Mike Crump had already voiced his concerns about the state of the pitch but allowed the referee to inspect. Despite requests from several players on both sides to play the game the referee saw sense and called the game off. Next week Moston travel to Old Ashtonians with another weakened squad due to Call ups to the 2nd team, unavailability and suspensions. With all the teams around Moston beating each other we now enter a crucial period in the season where if Moston can string together a few wins then we should be in a good position for the final push after Christmas. However a note of caution, a few losses and we could find ourselves mid-table despite the impressive start to the season.
