OH WHAT A NIGHT - SEVENTIES TO NOUGHTIES
Moston Brook celebrated their 40th Anniversary in style with a great night at the Irish Heritage Centre on Saturday 28th February. Approx. 200 guests were entertained by the group ‘You to Me' , comedian Frankie Allen and our Chairman John Ferns.
It was nice to see so many old faces from the past, especially ex teachers Ian Fisher, Alan Manship, Bill Pye & Tony Scott who all played for the club in it's first years.
A special thank you to organiser John Hughes, his wife Lisa and his small army of volunteers who helped decorate the room on Saturday afternoon, it is the first time I have known him speechless after blowing up all those balloons. Also thanks to the Chairman, John Ferns, on the work he put into his presentation and to Mike Crump for taking the photos, especially all the ones of the floor.
Thanks to Charlie and Mike for all the work on the evening and also in contacting so many of the ex old boys. Finally thanks to everybody who attended the evening and made it a special night to remember, I am sure everybody enjoyed a superb evening.
WHAT'S NEXT?
As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations we will be organising a day at the races, this will be on Saturday 18th July to Ripon. The day will begin with a breakfast, on to the racecourse and back in the evening to Manchester for a drink or two.
The event will be open to existing members, parents and ex members the more the better.
