Brook were a little slow to get started today and it proved to be a trying first half for them.Worsley were the first to score in the 12th minute with the clever delivery of a long ball shot over the top of the Brook defence and the keeper before landing straight into the top left hand corner of the net. Within a matter of minutes exactly the same thing happened again to put Worsley Juniour 2 - 0 ahead. Brook appeared to give up and allow Worsley to run away with the game as they scored for the third time. 3 - 0 in the 20th minute. Some sharp words from the management on the side line seemed to lift Brooks fighting spirits a little as they began to hold possession a little longer and pass the ball between them like we know they can. Darius took the ball on a run down the right wing after receiving an excellent pass from Callum Longshaw in midfield. Darius crossed it to Niall Rafferty up front who was immediately surrounded by the Worsley defence. His only option was to pass it back to Darius who didn't waste his opportunity in front of goal. He finally put Brooks on the score sheet. 3-1.However Brook were caught off guard once again as Worsley scored another virtually from the kick off to make it 4-1.With minutes to go Kyle Hark found the energy and determination to slam home a 2nd for Brook seconds before the half time whistle to make it 4-2.Brook set the tone for the second half of the game by immediately dominating play right from the off. They were finally beginning to believe in themselves and totally changed the face of the game.In the first five minutes Kyle Hark smashed home his 2nd goal of the day after a great spell of pass and run techniques between the squad. Minutes later Darius followed suit by scoring the equaliser and also adding his name a second time on the score card. 4-4.Niall Rafferty was next on the score card and first to put Brook in front as he scored a tremendous goal after receiving a superb through ball from Kallum Partington. Worsley somehow found the strength to fight back and they wasted no time at all in snatching their equaliser as soon as they spotted a large gap in the Brook defence. 5-5 They very nearly scored another from a long ball shot into the box like they did in the first half, but fortunately for Brook Naz Mohammed was there to stop them from taking the lead once again as he bravely headed the ball off the goal line and knocked it back into play. This match definitely looked like it was heading for extra time and possibly penalties. However with only 12 minutes remaining Kyle Hark dramatically changed that idea. After he received a pass from Craig Mckay, Harky who was waiting just outside the box confidently took on the Worsley defence. He managed to twist and turn his way through with the ball before knocking it past the keeper to score not only the winner of the day but his hat trick as well. Final score 5-6MOTM today is another split decision. Well done to Kyle Hark on a superb performance from start to finish today and for demonstrating that never say die attitude, which helped you gain your hat trick. Also Matthew Egan for showing true grit and determination in defence. Well done guys on your win but more importantly absolutely well done for finally waking up to the fact that you are a good solid squad when you switch on and put your minds to it. You have proved to yourselves today that you are capable of anything especially after being 4-1 down at one point, you have proved that as long as you put the effort in with added determination, that you have the ability to come back from whatever score. Finally my message to you all, after this performance is ‘Please don't stop believing in yourselves' xxx.
