Congratulations to the Under 13's who won the clubs first silverware of the season on Saturday. Playing in the Tameside & District Junior Leagues Under 13's Cup Final at Ashton United's ground they beat Wythenshawe Town 3-2. They are also on course to retain their league title having won every league game so far this season. Well done lads. First team get off to a flyer when Tom Caines opened the scoring in the first minute of their clash with Old Stretfordians. Tom added another before Strets fought back to 2-2 then Steve Hamlet grabbed the winner late in the second half. A much improved performance than of late. The seconds went down 3-1 at Barr Hill, but if chances had been taken the seconds could have easily won this game, Paul Smith coming off the bench to grab a late consolation. The thirds unbeaten run came to an end with a 4-0 defeat against Old Ashtonians, although the scoreline was a bit harsh, Moston were always second best. |
